William “Rick” Copestick, 68 passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018 at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania following a lengthy illness.
He was born in East Liverpool, OH on December 30, 1949 a son of the late Eva Jane (Copestick) Bates. Living most of his life in this area he worked as a stable hand for the Mountaineer Race Track. Rick was also a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by one son and one daughter; four brothers: Daryl Andrew Bates of Palm Beach, FL, Rodney Lee Bates of Manchester, TN, Thomas Edward Bates of New Port News, VA and Jeffrey M. White of Enon Valley, PA; one sister: Diana Lynn Amos of New Casthel, PA and three grandchildren.
In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by a brother: David Lloyd Bates.
It was Rick’s wishes that no calling hours or services be held. The Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes was entrusted with his arrangements.
