William J. “Bill” Thrasher

March 20, 1965 - August 6, 2023

 

William J. “Bill” Thrasher, 58 of Toronto, formerly of Wellsville, passed away on August 6, 2023  at Trinity West in Steubenville, OH  

Bill was born in East Liverpool on March 20, 1965, the son of the late Dohrman and Rena (Long) Thrasher.  He was a 1983 graduate of Wellsville High School and lived in the area the majority of his life.  He enlisted in the United States Army in 1985, stationed in Ft. Stewart, GA. After his honorable discharge, Bill spent 33 years as a technician for American Standard, in Salem, OH where he was still employed at his time of death.   Bill also served 24 years as a High School football official with the WVO board as well as OVAC board.

Bill is survived by: two brothers: Sherd Pardee, of Follansbee, WV and Ty Thrasher, of South Carolina; and his sister, Melissa Dowling, of Wellsville.  He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.  

Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Susan Pardee and his two beloved dogs, Oscar and Hannah.

The family is requesting memorial donations be made in Bill’s name to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital  501 St. Jude Place  Memphis, TN  38105
