Gifts & Memorial Donations

Wilda Belle Featherstone, age 94, passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her family on February 23, 2024. She was born on September 8, 1929, the daughter of the late Arthur and Alice Belle (Walker) Richman.  She was a graduate of East Liverpool High School with the Class of 1948 and spent her entire life in the area.

Wilda had a long and fulfilling career, starting as a telephone operator with Ohio Bell in her early years. She later dedicated many years working at Ogilvie’s Department Store, where her kind smile and conversations allowed her to  know many customers by name.  Wilda remained at Ogilvie’s until its closing in the early 90s.

In her spare time, Wilda enjoyed working in her yard to create a beautiful space.  She would spend hours outside planting flowers and separating Hosta plants until her yard was perfectly landscaped. She was also well known for her skills in the kitchen, particularly for her delicious pies which she lovingly baked. Above all else, spending time with her family was of utmost importance to her.

Wilda’s faith in Jesus began at an early age, she was blessed to grow up in a Christian family that regularly attended the Nazarene Church, and enjoyed summer outings at Hollow Rock. Wilda’s life was centered on her faith and her desire to share that faith, she was an intercessor prayer warrior that spent many hours on her knees. Wilda’s church home for over 40 years was Christian Assembly in Ohioville where she loved worshiping the Lord with her Church family.

Wilda is survived by: her children, Don (Michelle) Featherstone, of East Liverpool; Dorinda (Scott) Craig, of Salem, OH, and four grandchildren: Donald (Heather) Brown, Don Featherstone, Jr,(Victoria), Nathan (Lisa) Adkins, Joel (Amanda) Adkins, and Jackie (Rob) Hazelet; 14 great-grandchildren: Skyla, Isabelle, Damen, Chloe, Kaylee, Tyler, Conner, Isabelle, Zane, DeLeno, Avery, Oliver, Clair and Blake as well as 4 great great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Wilda also leaves behind her three sisters: Viola Wells, Mary Shevelow, and Pauline Walton.

Along with her parents, Wilda was preceded in death by her siblings: Paul, Ruth, and Jane.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 from 2PM-4PM at the Martin Chapel of Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists, in Calcutta.  The funeral will follow at 4PM with Rev. Bill Anzevino officiating. Wilda will be laid to rest in Columbiana County Memorial Park Cemetery.

Aunt Wilda was such a wonderful and kind person. She always garnered attention when she walked into a room. I always enjoyed visiting her and Uncle Don's home when I was a child. She always prepared the most wonderful meals. Wilda will be missed by my mother and me. May Our Good Lord wrap his Loving arms around Dorinda and Don in this very difficult time.

    Regina says:
I just want to say what a beautiful fragrance she left behind wherever her presence was. I would enjoy her company in and after church at Christian Assembly. I would always call her my secret Kathryn Kuhlman, we would laugh about it. She will be greatly missed! What a warrior for the Lord, I can rejoice knowing where she is, absent from the body is to be present with the Lord!!! Praying for the family. Regina Crawford
