Walter B. Gurney

Walter B. Gurney, 63, of Moundsville, WV. Passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017 at his residence.He was born June 30, 1954, in Glen Dale, WV, a son of the late Walter J. and Elizabeth (Fecat) Gurney.Walter was the former manager of the Giant Eagle grocery store, Catholic by faith and loved woodworking. He was an avid fan of the West Virginia Mountaineers and Pittsburgh Penquins.Walter is survived by his wife of 42 years, Diana Lynn (Hyde) Gurney of Moundsville; two sons, Thomas J. Gurney and Christopher M Gurney and his Fiancee, Christiana, all of South Carolina; two sisters, Carolyn (Harvey) Foster of Moundsville, Debra (Joseph) Freeland of New Martinsville, WV; brother, Joseph (Julie) Gurney of Palmyra, PA and their two children Gillian and Michael Gurney; three grandchildren, Isabella Gurney, Baeleigh Moore-Gurney and Briella Mina Gurney, born July 5, 2017; several nieces and nephews, Abby (Carl) Grey and their little girl, Josie, J.W. (Amy) Freeland and their children Luke and Chelsey, Bryce Foster, Chloe Foster, Kim (Scott) Rectenwald and their children, Tyce and Maddox Cruz, Sam (Gretchen ) Wojtoszek and their children, Libby and Edyn and his mother-in-law, Delores (Hyde) Shelton of Moundsville.Family and friends will be received Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapels, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville for a Memorial Gathering from 11am until the time for services at 4pm with Rev.
