Virginia A. “Ginny” Metz Byers, age 77, of Wellsville, Ohio passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at the Valley Hospice Care Center North at Trinity West in Steubenville, Ohio after a brief illness.
Born in Irondale, Ohio on December 3, 1939, Mrs. Byers was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Pearl V. (Striker) Metz. Having lived her entire life in this area she was a cashier at the Valley Market in Hammondsville for 19 years, retiring in 1999, was a graduate of Irondale High School and attended the Campground Community Church.
Survivors include two sons, Rick Byers of Hereford, Arizona and Dale Byers of Mount Vernon, Ohio, one sister, Linda J. Wright of East Liverpool, Oh. And four grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Byers was also preceded in death by one brother, Donald Metz.
Services will be held at the Wellsville Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at 12:00 Noon with Rev. Tom Adkins of the church officiating. Burial will follow at Morning View Cemetery in Irondale.
Family will be present to visit with friends at the Wellsville funeral Home from 10:00 AM until time of services at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday.
