Virgil R. Marrelli, 91 of East Liverpool, OH passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Orchards of East Liverpool.

He was born on February 29, 1924 in East Liverpool, a son to the late Joseph and Rose (Caputo) Marrelli. Having lived his entire life in this area, he had worked for the former Fiorello’s Market, the A & P Store and the Billingsley Foodland where he worked as a meat cutter. Virgil also worked as a funeral attendant for 20 years for the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes. He was a member of St. Aloysius Parish and a life member of the Elks Lodge 258.

He is survived by two sons: Joseph S. Marrelli and his wife Rita of Lakeland, FL and Michael C. Marrelli of East Liverpool, OH; a sister: Mary Macre of Steubenville, OH; three grandchildren: Adrian Marrelli of Lakeland FL, Liza Demoret and her husband Brett of Casselbery, FL and Mariel Marrelli of Queens, NY and two great grandchildren: Vance and Aven Demoret of Casselbery, FL.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Florence (Gentile) Marrelli whom he married on June 9, 1948; two brothers: John and Chuck Marrelli and a sister: Teresa Brandon.

Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Monday, September 28, 2015 at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.

Family will be present to receive friends at the Calcutta funeral home on Sunday, September 27, from 2 to 8 P.M.
