Susan E. Burke, 57 of Benwood, WV passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at the Wheeling Hospital, after a battle with cancer.
She was born on May 13, 1962 in Wheeling, the daughter of the late Donald G. and Rosanna June Ward Elias.
She was a Methodist by faith and a 1980 graduate of John Marshall High School. She was a former employee of Hecks Department Store and Cardinal Business Forms.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael P. Burke on March 19, 2006.
Surviving are her companion, Ralph Hixenbaugh; her sons, Marine Captain Nelson (Kristen) Hooker of Stafford, Virginia; Carl Hooker (Alyssa Henry) of Glen Dale; stepdaughter, Joni Burke; five grandchildren, Cole and Kyler Hooker, Annabelle, Hadley and L.T. Hooker; brothers, Gary (Jenni) Elias, Greg Elias, Grant (Rhonda) Elias; sister, Kathy (Pete) Loborec; several nieces and nephews; her dog Geno and former husband, Nelson Hooker, Sr.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
