Shane D Howell, 39, of Hammondsville passed away unexpectedly on June 15, 2021. He was born on December 3, 1981 in Steubenville, OH the son of Debra Arcuragi and Dan Howell. He graduated from Southern Local High School with the Class of 2000. Shane lived in the area his entire life. He was employed in the electrician/maintenance department of JSW Steel in Mingo Junction.
Shane loved everything outdoors. He was an avid hunter and belonged to the Ohio Gamefowl Breeders Association. He also was gifted with the understanding of anything mechanical. If it was broken, he could fix it, and if it worked, he could make it work better. He had a great love for music. He played left hand guitar and quickly found that he was pretty good with the first 4 chords to “Smoke on the Water”which he played endlessly. He enjoyed everything from Metallica to Johnny Cash. He loved connecting through music and would often send his mother and sisters songs that had a deep meaning to him. Shane had a huge heart that he did not hide. His love for his family and friends was always displayed. Shane’s heart was always big, but it grew larger and was overflowing with love beginning the day his son, Shane Logan, was born. It was important to Shane to be a great father. He spent as much time with Logan as possible and loved watching him grow into a caring young man.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are: his beloved son, Shane Logan Howell, of Salineville; his mother and stepfather, Debbie and Jeep Arcuragi, of Toronto; father and stepmother, Dan and Chris Howell, of Hammondsville; sisters: Tracy Avena, of Maryland, Bridget Howell (Adam Newbold), of Lisbon, and Jordan (Cliff) McElroy, of Richmond, and brother, Ryan (Jess) Howell, of Toronto.
