Sarah Viola Taylor “Mom-Mom”, 79 passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Weirton Medical Center following a brief illness.
She was born on February 13, 1938 in Oklahoma City, OK a daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Starke and Maude (Letts) Starke. She lived some her life in this area. They had moved from Pennsville, New Jersey, where she and her husband owned and operated Taylor’s Deli. Sarah enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader of mystery novels and loved her dog “Little Bit”.
She is survived by three daughters: Lillian Barker and her husband Michael of Nocona, TX, Kim Sines and her husband Dan of Wellsville, OH and April Roberts-Mulholland and her husband Louis of New Jersey; two granddaughters: Crystal Burkhammer and her husband Brandon of East Liverpool, OH and Trysha Walls and her companion Stephen Parker of Wellsville, OH and three great grandchildren: Kayleigh Burkhammer, Taylor Burkhammer and Ivy Fish.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas N. Taylor whom she married June 5, 1965; three brothers and one sister.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 10 AM with Rev. Ernest Peachey officiating. Burial will take place in Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens.
Family will be present to receive friends at the Calcutta funeral home on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 5 to 7 PM.
