Sandra Gay (Nichols) Card, 75 years of age, most recently of Saint Clairsville, Ohio; previously of Leonard, Texas, went home to Heaven on Monday, March 27th, 2023.
Sandra was born on June 4th, 1947 in Steubenville, Ohio, to the late Bernard F. & Inez L. (Smith) Nichols. She grew up in the tri-county area of Belmont, Harrison & Jefferson Counties of Ohio. Sandy was a graduate of Union Local High School. She was a very smart woman and went on to work in such places as: NCR, Xerox, Texas Instruments, Blockbuster, the oil industry, she was a cafeteria manager in the Plano City School System in Plano, Texas, as well as owning her own catering business, at one point.
She was a Bible believing Christian who had enjoyed reading the Bible and having discussions with her children about it. Sandra loved watching birds at her feeders, and figuring out which kind they were. Their antics filled her with happiness. She often would call family members just to tell them about the animals outside her window, especially the birds. Her hobbies included gardening, canning, crafting, computers, genealogy & puzzle books. She will always be remembered as being very talented.
In addition to her parents, Bernard and Inez, she was preceded in death by her husband of thirty years, Charles E. Card; and a sister, Linda Buehler.
She is survived by her children, Robin (Curtis) Morris of Saint Clairsville, OH; Anthony Couto of Austin, Texas; seven brothers and sisters, Wesley (Jeannette) Nichols of New Athens, Ohio, Bernard Nichols of Cadiz, Ohio, Dwight (Brenda) Nichols of Elkton, Maryland, Mildred Lemon of Malta, Ohio, Barbara (Jeff) Wohlever of Elyria, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Nicholas Rotruck, Brittney Rotruck, Luke Wright, Saine Slevin, Skylar Coulson, Zachary Morris, Emili Morris; 8 Great grandchildren and numerous family members and friends.
A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in honor of Sandra to the American Lung Association or to the American Bird Conservancy @ TMCFunding.com
