Ross C. Jackson Jr., 88 of East Liverpool, OH passed away at East Liverpool City Hospital on Friday, October 27, 2017 following a lengthy illness.
He was born in East Liverpool on July 4, 1929 a son to the late Ross C. Jackson Sr. and Edna Mae (Vorndran) Jackson. Living his entire life in this area, Ross was a 1947 graduate of East Liverpool High School and attended the Ohio Valley Business College and the American Institute of Banking. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War and a member of American Legion Post #4. Ross worked at the First National Bank in East Liverpool for 32 years as a Vice President and Controller before retiring from Bank One in 1987.
He is survived at home by his wife Grayce Ilene (Seckman) Jackson whom he married November 3, 1962; a son: John D. Smith Jr. and his wife Barbara of Columbiana, OH; three grandchildren: Laurie Brennen and her husband Matt of East Liverpool, OH, Steve Smith and his wife Michelle of Evans, Georgia and Michael Smith of Jersey City, New Jersey; five great grandchildren: Haley Brennen, Hannah Brennen, Jackson Smith, Maddox Smith and Emma Smith.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters: Dorothy Brewer and Margery Martin.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 3 P.M. Burial will take place in Riverview Cemetery.
Family will be present to receive friends at the Calcutta funeral home on Monday, October 30, 2017 one hour prior to the service from 2 to 3 PM.
