Rodney Francis McDowell age 75 of Wellsville, Ohio passed away from a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s on October 24th, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver.

He was born on August 25th 1944 in East Liverpool, Ohio a son to the late Francis “Fritz” Lee McDowell and Betty Jane (Bowers) McDowell.  Living all his life in this area, he worked maintenance for Norfolk Southern Railroad for 43 years. He graduated from Wellsville High School, class of 62. He was a US Army Veteran, serving his time in Vietnam.

Rodney was a member of the VFW, the Elks, and the American Legion. He had a passion for working on cars, and hunting deer.

He is survived by his wife Linda (Dmitrovich) McDowell, daughters Sheena Souder (Jared) of Pittsburgh and Tera Hartge (Buddy) also of Pittsburgh and a sister:  Susan Garee (Jim) of East Liverpool. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Avery, Hannah, Piper, and Augie.

Services will be held at the Care MacLean Chapel in Wellsville, OH on Saturday, October 26th 2019, at 1pm with Rev. Duane Hetzer officiating.  Burial will take place at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in Wellsville on Saturday October 26th 2019 from 11am up until the time of service, at 1pm
