Robert F. Pugh

Robert F. “Bob” Pugh, 88, of East Liverpool, OH, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023 at East Liverpool Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

  Bob was born in East Liverpool on May 6, 1935, the son of the late Edward and Gladys (Roush) Pugh.  He was a 1953 graduate of East Liverpool High School and a member of Glenmoor Presbyterian Church..  He was employed as a steel worker at Mackintosh-Hemphill until his retirement in 1996 due to health issues.  

Bob was a dedicated family man who loved caring for his home and yard.  In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf with his retired friends when able, and building countless 1,000 piece puzzles.  He was a very special man of few words who cared deeply for his family.

Bob is survived by: his wife of 67 years, Jean Stanley Pugh, who survives him at home; his children: Debbie Nicholson, of East Liverpool, Rick (Lynn) Pugh, of Marietta, GA, and John (Frances) Pugh, of Weston, FL; three grandchildren: Blake (Ashley) Nicholson, of Poland, OH, Michela (Nate) Barnard, of Lisbon, and Alycia (Matt) McLaughlin, of East Liverpool; his great grandson, Luke Nicholson, and step-grandchildren of Florida; He also leaves behind his siblings: Virginia Walker, of Lisbon, Nancy Brookes, of East Liverpool, and Ernie Pugh, also of East Liverpool; and his sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Les Ash, of East Liverpool, and his former son-in-law, Michael Nicholson, of East Liverpool.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Mitchell Nicholson.

The family would like to thank East Liverpool City Hospital for all the care and compassion they provided.

A private service will be conducted at the convenience of the family.  Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists- Martin Chapel have been entrusted with arrangements.
