Robert E. Nicholson

Robert E. Nicholson, 98 passed from this earth into eternal life on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Crandall Medical Center in Sebring, OH. The only child of the late John E. and Beulah P. McDonald Nicholson, he was born in Yellow Creek Township near Wellsville, OH on August 8, 1921. He spent most of his life working the family farm on Nicholson Road. In retirement, he became interested in making furniture and wooden toys which he crafted for family members.

He was preceded in death in 2004 by his wife of 61 years, Ethel Kathryn Mowen Nicholson, whom he married in 1943.

He is survived by six children: James Nicholson and his wife Kathy of Lisbon, OH; Sharon Boucher and her husband Michael of Waynesville, NC; Barbara Altomare of Lisbon, OH; Diane Netti and her husband Frank of Canfield, OH; Brenda Bailey and her husband David of Beaver, PA and John Nicholson and his wife Amy of East Canton, OH; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Services will be held at the Care – MacLean Chapel in Wellsville, OH on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 11 AM with Dan Excell officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Family will be present to receive friends at the MacLean Chapel on Sunday, November 3, 2019 from 6 to 8 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oak Ridge Church, 41981 Old Irondale Road, Irondale, OH 43932.
