Reverend John H. Ledger

Reverend John Ledger, 68, of New Athens passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Wheeling Hospital.

He was born July 28, 1953 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, a son of the late Clarence and Carmella (DeVecchis) Ledger.

John was a Christian by faith, attending both House of the Shepherd Church, New Athens and the Flushing Christian Church. He was a retired heating and cooling technician for Charter Foods and was an Ohio State Buckeye fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings; Frances Roseneau and William ‘Bill’ Ledger.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Debra Ledger, children; Brian Ware, Kristine (Craig) Perkins of Beallsville, Ohio, Amanda Foster (Harry Russell) of St. Clairsville, Tiffany (Pat) Blon of Stewartsville, Ohio, siblings; Charles ‘Tom’ (Dorothy) Ledger of Greenup, Kentucky, Clarence ‘Jeep’ Ledger of Bridgeport, Ohio, James Ledger of North Carolina, and June McCombs of North Carolina. Grandchildren; Katlyn VanNest, Trinity Blon, and Alexis Russell. Nieces; Tammy and Terri. Nephew; Will as well as numerous other nieces and nephews; Special fur companions Bella and Peaka.

Family and friends will be received at the CARE Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 204 W Main Street on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 from 2-4pm and 6pm until the time of funeral service at 7pm with Reverend Pete Tuchek officiating. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family.

    Our deepest condolences to Debbie and John's loved ones. Truly a tremendous loss for so many. I've enjoyed getting to know both John and Debbie over the years. Wonderful neighbors, it certainly will not be the same on Culbertson Drive.
