Rebecca Ann Thompson, 61 of East Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 23, 2018 at the Vista Center in Lisbon following an extended illness.
Becky was born in East Liverpool on January 2, 1957, the daughter of Nancy (Chesnut) Turner and the late John “Jack” Turner of Lisbon, Ohio. She was married May 3, 1980 to Donald G. Thompson, who passed away on October 14, 2016.
She was a member of the 1975 graduating class of Beaver Local High School, and lived and worked alongside of her husband as CEO installers in the telephony industry in Warren, OH; The Colony, TX and Anna, OH. She and Don returned to East Liverpool to be near her family in 1985. Becky owned and operated R.A. Telcom, Inc. and she also owned and managed The Mulberry Street Grill in East Liverpool until it closed in 2012.
In addition to her mother, Becky’s loss will be felt deeply by her sister, Debbie T. Mayers of Wellsville, OH; her step-niece, Kristen Mayers-Doolin (Jeff) and step great-niece, Taylor; Don’s family from Spring Valley, WI; her Aunt Barbara (Fred) Fischer of East Liverpool; cousin Ralph Turner of East Liverpool; her cousins Carol Mason of Lisbon, OH; her cousin Darrell (Tina) Chesnut; and cousin Ann Mason of Covington, GA; as well as several other family members and friends from all over the country and beyond.
The family has chosen not to have a funeral service at the present time, but will hold a private celebration of Becky’s life with family and friends at a later date.
The Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes has been entrusted with her arrangements.
In lieu of flowers or tributes, the family asks for everyone to take a moment to spend some time with a loved one or a friend; take them out to lunch or for a “sweet tea”, and let them know how much you cherish being a part of their life.
