Pinky Gill, of Wellsville, OH passed away, surrounded by her family and friends at McGee Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA on Monday, May 14, 2018, following a brief illness.
She was born in Ripley, WV a daughter to the late Nicholas and Gwen (Smith) Checkler. Living her entire life in this area, Pinky was a 1964 graduate of Wellsville High School and attended the former Immaculate Conception Church. She still worked and was the owner of Nick’s Pizza in Wellsville, a member of the SOI, the Wellsville Chamber of Commerce and a volunteer at East Liverpool City Hospital. She was on the Wellsville City Council, the Tree Board Committee and was a volunteer reader for the Wellsville Schools.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law Carla Gill-Klavuhn of Rogers, OH; her two grandsons: Patrick Shane Gill and Nicholas Cody Checkler; her three great grandchildren: Serenity, Lillian and Nicholas Checkler and two very special friends: Carol Thompson and Shirley Wells both of Wellsville, OH.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son: Patrick Gill.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 11 AM. Burial will take place in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Family will be present to receive friends at the Calcutta funeral home on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.
