Phyllis Jean (Ewing) Gatts, 83, of Pine Hill, Wheeling, WV, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 23, 2022, surrounded by family, including Carrie and David Shipman, with whom she resided.
Phyllis was born May 26, 1938 in Wheeling, a daughter of the late William Benton and Lucille (Murphy) Ewing. She was a member of Allen Grove Presbyterian Church; and a retired cook for the former Plaza Dairy, Moundsville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Gatts; and a sister, Louise Gardner.
Phyllis is survived by her brother, William Lynn Ewing, and his wife, Alice of Wheeling; an four generations of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at CARE Funeral Home, 1500 Second Street, Moundsville, WV, Thursday, April 28, from 5-8 pm, and Friday, April 29, from 11 am until time of service at 1 pm, with Pastor Rodney Hubbs officiating. Entombment will follow in Halcyon Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum, Sherrard, WV.
