Nile L. “Newt” Williams, 77, of Glen Dale WV., passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 13, 2010 after a 14 month battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He was born in Cameron, WV. The son of Donald and Martha Williams on January 4, 1933.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gloria Withers; brother, Delmar Williams and great- granddaughter, Chloe Lydick. He was a retired Instrumentation Technician at Allied and Olin Chemical Corp. He was owner and operator of Chimes and Time Clock Repair for several years. He was a member of the Glen Dale United Methodist Church, Glen Dale Sr. Citizens, AARP, NRA and Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Sue; 5 children, Debbie Williams, Elizabeth Williams (Jimmy), Becky Crow
(Steve), Jay Williams (Lisa), Sam Williams (Rhonda) and one brother Larry (Pam) Williams; 14 grandchildren, Craig
(Audrey), Nathan, Matthew, Zachary, Lacey (Coleman), Jeannette, Wyatt, Courtney, Emily, Hannah, Bryan, Jacob, Seth, Maggie and 4 great-grandchildren, Kendall, Landen, Phoebe and Gracie. His family celebrated his life everyday of those fourteen months and cherishes this time God left him with us.
Visitation will be held at CARE Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc., 1500 Second Street, Moundsville, on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 11am at the CARE Chapel with Pastor Chris Averson of the Glen Dale United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, Donations in Honor of Newt may be made to Valley Hospice at 308 Mt. St. Joseph Rd., Wheeling, WV 26003.
