Mildred Pennybaker, 87 passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the Christian House in East Palestine following a lengthy illness.
She was born on November 7, 1929 in Lookout, Kentucky a daughter to the late Finas Rose and Annie (Talbert) Bartley. Living most of her life in this area, she was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mildred enjoyed cooking and gardening. She treasured hugs and kisses from her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family loved stories about her childhood in Lookout, Kentucky.
She is survived by two sons: Jerry Pennybaker and his wife Cherry and Ray Pennybaker Jr. and his wife Shelly, both of West Point, OH; three daughters: Pat Troy and her husband Rich of Negley, OH, Sue Baumgarner of West Point, OH and Pam Young and her husband Kenny of Hammondsville, OH; one brother: Frank Bartley of Toronto, OH; four sisters: Phyllis Johnson of Chester, WV, Laverne Guy of Calcutta, OH, Jessie Rose of Wellsville, OH and Flo Lockhart of Chillicothe, OH; grandchildren: Gerrilynn & Rich Beaver, Rachael & Dave Esterly, Jessica & Paul Champney, Michael Newbold, Bryan & Toshia Troy, Kevin & Grace Troy, Chuch & Amanda Baumgarner, Sam Baumgarner and his companion Chantel, Lori Baumgarner, Christy Baumgarner Hager, Nikki Baumgarner and her companion Patrick Exline, Ashley & Aaron Wolfe, Summer and Michael Garnica, Matt Pennybaker and his companion Deizaray McDole, Kyle Young, Janet Forrester, Paul Forrester and thirty-two great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ray W. Pennybaker whom she married July 3, 1948 and two sisters: Fay McLaughlin and Bernice Guy; her son-in-law: Chuck Baumgarner; a daughter-in-law: Stella Pennybaker; three brothers-in-law: Jack McLaughlin, Bob Guy and Leon Johnson and a grandson: Richard Forrester.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 4 PM with Patrick Williams officiating.
Family will be present to receive friends at the Calcutta funeral home on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 1 PM up until the time of the service at 4 PM.
