Mary Elizabeth (Liz) Robinson Marks passed from this world on November 11, 2018 in Salem, Ohio surrounded by loved ones. Liz was born to Mary Ann Call and Harry M. Robinson on July 27, 1937 on the site that became the Crocker City Farm, Lisbon, Ohio.
She attended schools in East Liverpool where she met her husband, Denver C. Marks. They married on January 4, 1956 in Cumberland, MD. She followed her husband to Camp Lejeune, NC.
They returned to East Liverpool, Ohio where she raised their six children. Liz was the carpool mom who raised and supported her children and their friends who also called her mom in all their activities and dreams.
Liz loved roller skating and participated on shows. Vegetable and flower gardening was her passion. She could grow anything. She was a Camp Fire Girls leader and never missed practice for softball, baseball or football. She took up archery and became a state champion field archer in 1980 and in 1985. Liz was a former member of the Boyce United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband (10/19/16) and parents she was preceded in death by brothers Joseph M. Robinson and Harry Richard Robinson and sisters Margaret Iona Beaver, Mary Magdene Robinson, Mary Louise Robinson, Lilly Kay Tyler, and Eva Jane Cuthbertson and son in law, Fred Conlon (8/2010).
Liz is survived by four daughters Beth Marks Conlon of Lisbon, Patricia Brand and her companion Mike Pearson of Valdese, NC, Laurie Marks and her husband John Chafinn of Negley, Ohio and Bonnie Kirkpatrick and her husband Terry of New Cumberland, WV and two sons Denver Marks, Jr. and his wife Stacy of Salem, Ohio and Dan Marks and his wife Peggy of Hampton, VA. She is also survived by a sister, Edna Corrine Curtaccio of Bridgewater, PA and a brother Herbert Eugene Robinson of Florida. Liz has 12 grandchildren Andy Marks, Melissa Clay, Amanda Brand, Michelle Ozmun, Tonya Pearson, Eddie Brown, Jr. Dalton Kirkpatrick, Robbie Marks, Daniel Marks, Samantha Felger, Lindsay Fortune, Tara Marks, and 17 great grandchildren including Mia Marks, Madison Clay, Colt Clay, Hayden Clay, Ryan Brand, Makenzie Brand, Charlie Carroll, Garrett Mayerchak, Luke Douglas, Sadie Douglas, Henry Felger, Cooper Ozmun, Chloe Tomlin, Caden Tomlin, and Cuyler Tomlin.
Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday, November 14, 2019 , at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Home with Pastor Norm Eckert of the Beechwood Free Methodist Church officiating.
Family will be present to visit with friends at the Calcutta Chapel on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.
