Mark A. Sams, 45 of Wellsville, Ohio passed away Monday, February 6, 2017 at Allegheny General in Pittsburgh, PA following a brief battle with cancer.

He was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia on October 17, 1971 the son of Larry M. and Mary (O’Neill) Sams. Living most of his life in this area, Mark was a 1990 graduate of Wellsville High School and graduated from The Ohio State University and Akron Law School. He was employed at Western & Southern Life Insurance Company, a member of Calcutta Lions Club, a social member of the Wellsville VFW Post #5647, an avid Ohio State and Pittsburgh Pirates fan and loved camping and being outdoors.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother: Larry Sams and his wife Toni of Canfield, OH and his companions, Shultz and Max.

Services will be held at the Wellsville Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 6 PM with Pastor Dirk Hall of the Living Well Church officiating.

Family will be present to receive friends at the Wellsville funeral home on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 2 PM up until the time of the service at 6 PM.

The family requests that donations be made to Angels for Animals.
