Margaret “Natalie” (Kinzel) Lewis, 98, formerly of Wellsville, Ohio died Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Alliance Community Hospital of Covid-19 related pneumonia.  Natalie was a resident of Crandall Medical Center since 2013.

Natalie was born October 25, 1921 to the late Leonard J. and Rebecca C. (Thomas) Kinzel.  After graduating from Wellsville High School in 1939, Natalie married Robert W. Lewis on May 3, 1941.  Natalie lived in Wellsville most of her life, with the exception of a five-year honeymoon in Columbus, Ohio and three years with her son in Alliance.

Natalie owned and managed a coffee shop and sold Beeline women’s clothing through house parties before becoming a secretary for Wellsville City Schools.

Natalie was an active member of First Christian Church in Wellsville where she served as clerk for the board, president of the Christian Women’s Fellowship, was a member of the Live Wire Sunday School class and sang in the church choir.

She was a past Matron of OES #417, chairperson of East Liverpool Christian Women’s Club, former secretary of Wellsville Historical Society, a member of the Arts Club, and Vice-President of Friends of the Old Fire Station.

Natalie also enjoyed reading, cooking, conducting Bible studies, planning dinners, and being affectionately dubbed “Martha Stewart” by her church friends, spending time with her family and church family, playing Upwords, being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and spending summers at the family’s Guilford Lake cottage.

Natalie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter, Rebecca Lovett, brother Leonard Kinzel, Jr; one granddaughter, Bobbi Lynne Garey; a great-granddaughter, Sylvia Ann Lewis, and a great-grandson, Gage Robert Lewis. She is survived by a sister, Wanda K. Lavender, of New Jersey; sons: R. Larry (Nina) Lewis of Port Orange, Florida; Charles A. (Cindy) Lewis of Freeport, Ohio; J. Kim Lewis and Don McCallister, of Alliance, Ohio;  her grandchildren: Joelle Lewis, Amy (Philip) Wakeman, Kelly (Adam) Hill, John Garey, Natalie (Harvey) Temple, Nicole (Chad) Ourant, Charley (Bethany) Lewis, and Nanette Lewis; her great grandchildren: Annie Whaley, Emma Wakeman, Stella Wakeman, Johnathan Leonard, Harleigh Temple, Quentin Temple, Larry White, Violet Ourant, Willow Ourant, Lily Lewis, Sophia Lewis, Aiden Lewis, Chase Capers, Champyn Capers, and Cindy Capers.

Natalie’s family would like to thank the staff at Crandall Medical Center for their care and compassion during the past 7 years, especially past employees: Connie, Hilarie, Brittany, Resa, and Heather; and current employees: Eric, Tracie, Miranda, Brooke, Erica, Bambi and the activities staff, Patty and the dietary department, and Ruth.

There will be a private service held at the MacLean Chapel of Care Funeral and Cremation Specialists in Wellsville, Ohio.  A memorial celebration will be held at a later date, when it is safe to gather again.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Christian Women’s Fellowship of The First Christian Church, 831 Main Street, Wellsville, OH  43968 or the Friends of the Old Fire Station, c/o Cody Cole, 1202 Main Street, Wellsville, OH 43968.
