On Monday, January 4, 2021, Loretta Kay Baker Conner of Moundsville, West Virginia, passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 79. She was born May 11, 1941, in Jefferson County, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late John F. Baker and Mary M. Emery Baker Mason Ogden.
Loretta enjoyed keeping busy with her family, friends, dogs, and hobbies. Throughout the years, you could find her involved in the activities of her children and grandchildren. Loretta was a supporter of many sports, band parents and football, scouts, 4-H, youth bowling, cheerleading, and so much more. She was an avid Nascar fan and never missed watching a race. Loretta was a lifetime member of the Upper Ohio Valley Obedience Training Center. Loretta was known for her love of Labrador Retrievers and never turned away a stray. In her spare time, Loretta enjoyed listening to audiobooks, scrapbooking, and quilting.
In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by her five siblings, James Baker, Mary Nice, Judy Fusani, Sandy Shaffer, and John Baker. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Obert Lee Conner; her four children, Gary (Teresa) Conner, Scott (Kim) Conner, both of Virginia, Lisa (Randy) Williams of Georgia, Mark (Kathie) Conner of Ohio; eight grandchildren, Ryan, Scott, Harley, and Sierra Conner, of Virginia, Kailey and Coleman Williams, of Georgia, Ashlie (Cody) LaRoche, Tyler Tobiczyk, of Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no services held at this time and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Care Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at carechapel.com.
