Gifts & Memorial Donations

Lewis George “Chip” Call, 68, of East Liverpool, passed away at his home on September 15, 2017 with his family by his side. The son of the late Lewis and Naomi (Whitney) Call, he was born in East Liverpool on December 2, 1948 and had lived his entire life in this area. After graduating from East Liverpool High School in 1967 he became a member of the United States Army serving in Vietnam. He proudly served as a sharpshooter and a tunnel rat with the ¾ Cav MacKenzie’s Raiders, 25th Infantry Division. He was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Combat Infantryman Badge. After his time in the service he went to work at the former T.S.& T. pottery and after that at Hall China Company where he worked as a Glaze Checker for over 20 years.
Lewis was a talented Guitarist and singer. We never met a person who didn’t like hearing him play. He could play any instrument he wanted, but his passion was the guitar. Although we miss him very much, we know he is singing with the angels.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Julie Elizabeth and Inez Marie Call.
He leaves behind his four children; Cynthia Miskimen and her husband, Tom, of Ohioville, Pa., Lewis “Mick” Call and his wife, Tina, of Howard, Ohio, Chris Call of East Liverpool, Oh. and Elizabeth A. Call also of East Liverpool. Two grandchildren; Casandra Mae and Tyler Lewis Miskimen, as well as his beloved dogs, Hooch and Tia and many friends and cousins.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of the Valley for all their help and the special kindness they provided during this very difficult time in our lives.
We are going to miss our Dad every day for the rest of our lives, but, we take comfort in knowing that there is a great day coming because on June 1, 2017 he was added to the Lord’s church by way of baptism and the hope of Heaven has been given to him.
