Leon Russell Edward Bauer, 5 years old, of Powhatan Point, OH, passed away suddenly Wednesday, May 19, 2021, in Cambridge, OH.
He was born in Wheeling, WV, January 18, 2016 to Daniel Bauer and Laura Whipkey. Leon was known for his happy demeanor and enjoyed attending services at the Experience Church with his family. His favorite activities were blowing bubbles and wheels, anything that could spin kept his attention. His favorite movie was “Finding Nemo” and he was truly a little water baby.
Leon is preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Jean and Al Warner and Mary and Carl Whipkey; his Nana, Linda Turick and two cousins, Isaiah Logsdon and Eva Wallaston.
Leon is survived by his parents, Daniel Bauer and Laura (Jamie Turick) Whipkey; seven siblings, Hailey Domer, Harlee Turick, Brayden Bauer, Athena Bauer, Hudson Ruckman, Hunter Ruckman and Renesmee Bauer; maternal grandparents, Mike and Shelia Whipkey; paternal grandparents, Duane and Kim Bauer; grandparents, LaDonna Huntsman and Jim Turick; 12 aunts and uncles, Michael Whipkey, Mary Whipkey, Kristie (Michael) Logsdon, Alton (Jacee) Whipkey, Matthew Smith, Martina Smith, Nicole (Ryan) Caldwell, Keri (Heath) Miller; Cody and Travis Potts and Jamie and Cindy Potts; numerous cousins; paternal great-grandparents, Floyd and Martha Atkinson and Don and Lois Bauer; close family friends, who were like his aunts, Barb Reischman, Katrina Whittington, Kathy Whittington and Anna Dodd and uncle, Bryan Dodd.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from 11 am – 2 pm & 5-8 pm and Wednesday, June 2, from 3 pm until time of services at 4 pm at CARE Funeral and Cremation Services, 1500 Second St., Moundsville.
