Lawrence Gorby

Lawrence W. Gorby,  85, of Moundsville, WV,  died Saturday, March 21, 2015 in Reynolds Memorial Hospital.

He was born August 4, 1929 in Fish Creek, WV, a son of the late William and Bessie Henry Gorby.

He was a retired foreman with Jarvis, Downing and Emch Inc.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Rick Gorby, one brother, John Gorby, four sisters, Ellen Iona Heath, Laura Miller, Elizabeth Jerico and Letha Elliot.

Surviving are his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Smith Gorby, three children, Mike Gorby, Shirley Burge and Dennis Gorby all of Moundsville; one brother, Syd  Gorby of Moundsville; a special niece, Carla Cook, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Care Funeral Home, 1500 Second St., Moundsville, and 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2015.

Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
