Judith “Judy” Manning Raffle Payne, age 77, passed away on August 6th 2020 at Salem Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

Ms. Payne was born in Bergholz, Ohio, on April 11th, 1943 and had lived her entire life in this area. The daughter of the late Paul Lloyd Manning and Marianna Morrow, she was a graduate of Salineville High School, class of 1961. She was employed at Headstart, and then went on to become a paraeducator at Southern Local schools, where she retired after many years. Ms. Payne was a member of the United Methodist Church in Salineville, Ohio. Judy was a loving and devoted mother and enjoyed taking care of her children as well as watching all of her grandchildren play sports.

Left to cherish her memory is a son: Curt Raffle of Salineville, Ohio; two daughters: Chris McCulley of Salineville, Ohio and Brandee Wilson of Salineville, Ohio; a brother: Richard “Archie” Manning of Salineville, Ohio; two sisters: Becky McIntosh of North Carolina, and Amy Manning of Bergholz, Ohio; nine grandchildren: Curt Raffle III, Keith Raffle, Nick Raffle, Taylor Gatta, Adam Hickman, Charles McCulley III, Melissa McCulley, Bradley McCulley, and Walker Wilson; she also leaves behind 9 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, preceding her in death is a brother: Paul Manning, and two sisters: Melissa Hays, and Lorrie Manning.

In compliance with Ohio state regulations and in connection to the COVID-19 public health crisis, visitation with masks and proper social distancing will be held on Tuesday, August 11th from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Home in Calcutta. The funeral service will take place August 12th at 12pm at the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Home with Pastor Pat Smith officiating. Burial will follow the service at Woodland Cemetery.
