Juanita June (Wood) Workman, 63, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, WV.
She was born on June 7, 1958 in Glen Dale, WV, daughter of the late Sidney O. & Juanita Hope (Emery) Wood.
Juanita was a homemaker, member of the Cornerstone Church of God, Moundsville, enjoyed, bingo, gardening, canning and spending time with her grand-children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Chester Michael Wood; daughter, Paula Wood; grandson, Chaz Lightner; maternal grandparents, Everett and Leona “Mae” Emery, paternal grandparents, Charles Everett and Ella Wood and Van DeVault, Companion of Juanita Hope (Emery) Wood.
Surviving are her companion of 44 years, Norman Lee Wood of Wheeling; children, Opal Workman (Craig Brown) of Moundsville, Norman “Weezer” Workman of Wheeling, Shari Wood of Columbus, OH and Theresa Lynn White of Moundsville; three sisters, Lutechia Wood-Fields of Moundsville, Laura (Jim) Francis of Moundsville and Ruth Wood (Matt Mason) of Glen Easton, WV; two brothers, Sidney (Carol) Wood of Moundsville and Wesley Wood of Moundsville; 9 grand-children, Shasta Brown, Chloe “MeMe” Brown, Damien “Buddy” Brown, Savannah Lightner, Rusty Lightner, Jr., Kyle J. Davis, Taylor M. Davis, Madisyn Truex and Mya Truex; surviving wife of Sidney O. Wood Sr., Martha Wood of Moundsville and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at CARE Funeral &Cremation Service, 1500 Second Street, Moundsville on Friday, July 23, 2021 from 2-4pm with a Memorial Service at 4pm with Pastor Michael McCartney officiating.
Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery.
A bereavement dinner will follow at the Bowman Ridge Community Center after the interment.
