Joyce L. Camp, 81 passed away at Heritage Valley Beaver Hospital on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 following an extended illness.
She was born in East Liverpool, OH on March 25, 1935, a daughter of the late Jesse and Mildred (Morton) Diven. Joyce was a 1953 graduate of Midland High School and attended the former Ohio Valley Business College. She lived most of her life in this area and served as Secretary and Tax Collector of Glasgow Borough, was treasurer of Smith’s Ferry United Methodist Church and enjoyed playing cards with the Nite Out Card Club for over 50 years. She was a former member of the Western Beaver Boosters and a football mom, but first and foremost, a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by three sons: Charles L. Camp and his wife Vicki of Sacramento, CA; Jeffrey R. Camp and his wife Cheryl of East Liverpool, OH and Stephen W. Camp and his wife Lorie of Glasgow Borough, PA; two daughters: Marcia Camp of East Liverpool, OH and Laurie Ann Camp of Salem, OH; a brother: Wayne Diven of East Liverpool, OH; a sister: Sondra Gilmer of Chester, WV; grandchildren: Kristy “Young” Sano, Stephen Camp Jr., Jeff Camp Jr., Kristin Shriver and Alex Camp; great grandchildren: Leah Shriver and Allison Shriver.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Bo” Camp whom she married June 11, 1955 and a granddaughter: Kristin Marie Camp.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 11 AM with Rev. Willard Adkins officiating. Burial will take place in Riverview Cemetery.
Family will be present to receive friends at the Calcutta Chapel Friday, February 24, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Smith’s Ferry United Methodist Church or a favorite charity.
Family and friends will gather at the East Liverpool Country Club for food and fellowship following the service.
