Josephine (Bayba)  Alonso Hunter, 95, formerly of Moundsville, WV, died August 19,2021 at Continuous Care Center, WVU Medicine.

She was born on March 8,1926 in Moundsville WV, daughter of the late Jesus and Josefa(Leon) Alonso.

Josephine was Catholic by faith and retired from Fay’s Jewelry Store. She enjoyed walking and socializing with her friends. Josephine enjoyed baking her famous orange drop cookies and Spanish cream roll, that she shared with her friends and family.

In addition to her parents she preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Richard L. Hunter in October of 2018. Three sisters Mary Henderson, Gloria Carr and Olga Alonso one brother Joe(Farmer) Alonso And one Grandson Jeremy R. Hunter.

Surviving Josephine is her daughter Terri Hunter of Canal Winchester, Ohio and her son William(Marlene) Hunter of Glen Dale, WV. One sister Mercedes Lucas of Moundsville. Three grandchildren Nicholas (Aliesha) Hunter of Davidson N.C. Jake Hunter of Charlotte N.C. her granddaughter  Angela(Greg) Hunter of Morgantown WV. Three great grandsons, Nolan Hunter, Chase Hunter and Myles Hall, and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation due to Josephine’s wishes. Arrangements made by Care Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

A special Thank You to Continuous Care Center First floor north and Amedisys Hospice for all the kindness and compassion that Mom felt during her last days.
