Joseph William “Joe” Armstrong Jr., 55, of Wheeling, WV, passed away Wednesday, August 26 2020, at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV.
He was born August 22, 1965, a son of Mary Kay (Burkhart) Kaczmarek and the late Joseph W. Armstrong Sr. Joe was a Lutheran by faith and a US Army Veteran. He loved working on his cars in the garage, and taking camping trips. He was an avid pool player and played with a few leagues at Al and Lou’s Bar, now known as Carin’s Pub. Joe always put his family first and will be remembered for his big heart.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Morgan Peters.
In addition to his mother, Joe is survived by his loving wife, of 37 years, Tammy (Ryder) Armstrong; four children, Heather (Brian) Zink of Wheeling, Danielle Armstrong of Coshocton, OH, Christy Ryder of Wheeling and Dustin Armstrong of Wheeling; six siblings, Shannon (Josh) Gonzalez of Bridgeport, OH, Amanda (Jeremy) Lovejoy of Wheeling, Ed (Tonya) Armstrong of Wheeling, Jason Armstrong of Martins Ferry, OH, Brian (Liz) Hedgeman of Kent, OH and Brendon Armstrong of Wheeling; two brothers-in-law, Mark (Cindy) Thomas of Wheeling and Joseph Thomas of PA; one sister-in-law, Bethany Thomas of Wheeling; five grandchildren, Patience, Faith, Hunter, Gage and Damion and several nieces and nephews.
