John David Thomas, 81, of Martins Ferry, OH, passed away on Friday December 3rd, 2021 at Liza’s Place in Wheeling, WV.
He was born April 2nd, 1940, the son of the late Ernest and Mary (Richards) Thomas. He was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church of Harrisville, and a veteran of both the Coast Guard and the Navy, serving on the USS Forrestal.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother.
John is survived by his loving wife, of 53 years, Judy (Edmunds) Thomas; daughter, Stacey (Barry) Hall of Adena, OH; son, Casey (Belinda Arnold) Thomas of Port Washington, OH; grandchildren, Christian (Amanda) of Seven Hills, OH, Madison of Wheeling, WV; Rylee of Houston, PA, Ella of Adena, OH, Shelby of Martins Ferry, OH, Jaden of Port Washington, OH, Crystal (CJ) of Adena, OH, Stephen (Carli) of Clay County, WV, Lauren of Freeport, OH, Natalie (Jeff) of Piedmont, OH, Jessica of Adena, OH; numerous great grandchildren, 2 special “Grandchildren”, Cameron and Alyssa; special friend, Bill “Sonny”; and 2 cats, Milo and Fluffy.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 11th at 2:00 PM at the Covenant Presbyterian Church of Harrisville.
