John A. “Jack” Barker, 88, of Calcutta passed away at his home suddenly on May 21, 2020. Born in East Liverpool on April 4, 1932, Jack was the son of the late Clarence and Ellen (Snape) Barker and lived his entire life in the area. Working as a clerk and in sales, Jack worked for over 42 years at the former A & M Auto down town, he also attended the Longs Run Trinity Presbyterian Church and enjoyed remodeling around the house.
Jack is survived at home by his wife of 67 Years, Margaret “Peg” (Stull) Barker who he married on June 7, 1953 and his son, Jeffery A. Barker and his wife Kathy of East Liverpool. He is also survived by two special friends, Chris Cowan and Jimmy Gamble.
In addition to his parents he preceded in death by 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
In compliance with Ohio State regulations and concern with the Covid 19 virus private services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Home with Rev. Ian Leyda of his church officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbiana County Memorial Park.
A memorial celebration of Jack’s life will be held at a later date.
