Jo-Ann B. “Jada” Olsavsky, 77, of St. Clairsville, OH passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at UPMC Magee Women’s Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA with her husband Jake and sister, Ann B, O’Donnell at her side.  She had numerous medical issues and was in Pittsburgh for the past three weeks.  She was born April 19, 1942 in Provident, OH a daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Janicki Bukmir.

Jo-Ann was a retired Registered Nurse having worked for the St. Clairsville  Clinic, Dr. F. Jay Keefer and Dr. Matt Kirkland and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Wheeling Hospital School of Nursing Alumni and St. John Central High School Alumni.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Dobis and Bernice Fulton; a brother, John Bukmir; a brother-in-law, Francis H. Kerr.

Jo-Ann graduated from St. John Central High School in Bellaire and went to nurses training at Wheeling Hospital School of Nursing where her senior year she was Miss Student Nurse.  She took specialized training at hospitals in Columbus and Pittsburgh.  She came back to St. Clairsville to work at the former Clinic on Main Street, then Dr. Keefer’s office and finally at Dr. Kirkland’s office in Wheeling as an R.N. and office manager until both reached retirement age.

Her Friday nights were devoted to the high school football teams her husband Jake coached.  Jada was the number one cheerleader for Brilliant, Bellaire and Union Local.  Jada and Jake had a true love for their professional lives and the people that they helped.

Surviving are her husband, Wm. Jake Olsavsky of St. Clairsville; two sisters, Stella B. Kerr of Baden, PA and Ann B. (Scott) O’Donnell of Avon Lake, OH; a sister-in-law, Marlene Bukmir and nephew, Mark Bukmir, both of St. Clairsville.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 6-8 pm and Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Care Funeral & Cremation Specialist 204 West Main Street St. Clairsville, OH with a vigil service at Friday at 3:45 pm.

Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held Saturday at 10 am at St. Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Chillog as celebrant.  Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
