Jerry Albert Stuckwish, 69 of East Liverpool, Ohio passed away unexpectedly Monday, January 27, 2020 at East Liverpool City Hospital.
He was born in Sewickley, PA on October 6, 1950 a son of the late Albert and Leona (Smith) Stuckwish. Jerry was a graduate of Ambridge High School class of 1969 and a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during Vietnam, where he received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign and Service Medals, a Bronze Star, a Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, an Army Commendation Medal and an Air Medal. He worked as a Ladle Controller for ATI Steel for 37 years before retiring in 2015, he was an avid golfer, loved to fish and hunt, was very proud of his 67 Camaro that he built and was a huge Steeler Fan.
He is survived at home by his wife Gretchen (Smith) Stuckwish whom he married December 4, 1982; a son: Chad Melvin of Calcutta, OH; two daughters: Tammi Melvin of East Liverpool, OH and Jennifer Smith Haddon and her husband Michael of Solon, OH; two brothers: Ronnie Stuckwish of New Brighton PA and Chris Stuckwish of Leetsdale PA; a sister: Audrey Zdrodowski of Leetsdale PA and he will be missed by his grandchildren: Kyle Hadon, Chloe Hadon, and especially by Mariyah Severs and McKenna Jones whom he was helping to raise and by his dogs, Gizmo, Loke and Wolfie. As Well as several Nieces and Nephews.
Services will be held at the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes in Calcutta on Friday, January 31, 2020 at 11 AM with Pastor Kim Gadd of the House of Prayer officiating. Burial will take place in Spring Hill Cemetery where the Tri-State Burial Group will accord full military honors.
Family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in Calcutta on Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 6 to 8 PM.
