James Roger Courtwright, age 72, passed away peacefully January 10, 2020 due to diabetes and heart failure. He was born September 22, 1947 in Greene County, Pennsylvania to James and Helen Irene Courtwright. He married his true love, Janet Lee Spence in 1975. He raised seven children and loved each of his 19 grandchildren and one great grandchild dearly.

James served in the Marine Corps and enlisted in 1965. James served four years in the Marine Corps, two of those years were spent in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. He served his country bravely and he remained a Marine at heart for the duration of his life. HOO-RAH!

James is preceded in death by his parents, his brother David Courtwright and his grandchild Hannah Courtwright. He is survived by his wife Janet, his sisters Cindy Hughes and Susie McNealy; brother-in-law, Ed Hughes; his seven children and their spouses, Bill and Pam Walker, Jimmy Walker, Kristie and Jack Murin; J.D. and Marcie Courtwright, Calub and Natalie Courtwright, Michael and December Courtwright, and Bob and Ashley Courtwright; grandchildren, Deanna Kae and Aaron Walker, Courtney and Caitlin Walker, Peyton, Paige, Phoebe and Patrick Murin, Barret, McKenna, Brent and Mathew Courtwright, Waylan Courtwright, Ian and Lincoln Courtwright, Alexander, Dylan, Jacob, and Owen Courtwright; plus one great grandchild, Hunter Esenwein. 


Visitation is for immediate family.
