He was very proud that his two sons also joined the Navy. He was later employed by Schiappa Coal Company in Wintersville, OH, and then many years with Combined Insurance Company. He spent his retirement years at Riesbecks in Elm Grove, where he eventually met his wife Linda.
He was a member of Beech Bottom Community Christian Church, and attended St Mark Lutheran Church in Wheeling.
Jim loved fishing and spending time outdoors with his children, and his grandkids. He enjoyed traveling the state, visiting and photographing the state parks, and especially his favorite, Spruce Knob. He thoroughly enjoyed creating his wire sculptures, “pen and ink” drawing, and other arts.
Private service and a Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.
