James L. Monte, 85 of Wellsville, Ohio passed away at his residence on Thursday, January 23, 2020 following a brief illness.
He was born in Wellsville, Ohio on February 4, 1934 a son to the late Sam and Viola (Buracchio) Monte. Living his entire life in this area, James was a Veteran of the United States Army, worked as a Motor Inspector for Crucible Steel before retiring in 1983 and was a life ling member of the 3rd Street Gang in Wellsville, OH. Jim was always a champion for the under dog, hence a longtime Cleveland Browns fan.
He is survived at home by his wife Linda (Wicker) Monte whom he married September 9, 1995; a very special daughter in his heart: Ashley Ash and her husband Dave of Negley, OH; a brother: Mike Monte and his wife Nancy of Wellsville, OH and a sister: Jean Ann Monte of Anaheim, CA.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers: Ralph, Steve, John, Paul and Sam and three sisters: Rita, Mary Jo and Virginia.
Services will be held at the MacLean Chapel of the Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists in Wellsville on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at 6 PM with Father Scott Kopp as Celebrant.
Family will be present to receive friends at the MacLean Chapel on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 from 3 PM up until the time of the service at 6 PM.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in James’s name to the favorite charity.
