James Harsha

EAST LIVERPOOL:  James V. “Jim” Harsha, 79, of East Liverpool, OH, passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, after a lengthy illness.

Jim was born on July 17, 1941 in East Liverpool, OH, the son of the late James V. and Erma V (Barnhart) Harsha.  He graduated in 1959 with the first class to graduate from Beaver Local High School.  

Jim married the love of his life, Roxanna Howell, on January 24, 1962.  

Jim worked as Service Manager for O.S. Hill for many years, both in the East Liverpool and Wheeling branches.  After leaving O.S. Hill, Jim pursued a life in trucking.

Jim loved being outdoors.  He enjoyed cutting his grass and keeping his yard well maintained, along with spending time with his family on vacations, especially Ft. Myers Beach. His grandchildren were his pride and joy and loved every moment he spent with them. He also relished the time spent with his son working at his shop and maintaining his truck.

Jim will be greatly missed by his wife, Roxie, who survives him at home; his three children: Beth A. (Jeffrey) Whan, of Leetonia, Amy L. (Thomas) Cunningham, of East Liverpool, and James B. (Stephanie) Harsha, of Lisbon; three grandchildren: Caylee L. Cunningham, of Pittsburgh, PA, LeeAnn Harsha and Jimmy Harsha, both of Lisbon.

Along with his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Lee C Harsha.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021 for the family from 2PM-4PM and friends may call from 6PM-8PM at CARE Funeral & Cremation Specialists – Martin Chapel (formerly Martin MacLean Altmeyer) in Calcutta.  The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 12PM at the Martin Chapel with Pastor Norm Eckert officiating.  Burial will follow in Calcutta Cemetery.

In compliance with Ohio state regulations and in connection to the COVID-19 pandemic, masks and social distancing will be required.
