Ina M Christy Harker

Ina Mae Christy Harker, 98, of East Liverpool, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at Calcutta Health Care Center.  

Ina was born on April 12, 1923, in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late James Cooper Christy and Mary Jane (Barrett) Christy.  In addition to her parents, Ina is preceded in death by: her husband of 80 years, Ralph Harker, whom she married on May 25, 1940;  Ina also joins her daughters, Mary Lou McClure and Judy Harker; her son, Edward Harker; two sisters: June Owens and Wilda Jean Miller; three brothers: James Christy, Curtis Christy, and Robert Christy; and great-grandson, Jacob Gleghorn.

Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters: Doris Owens, of East Liverpool, Irene (
Gerald) Reed, of Wellsville, and Christy Huffman, of Salem; and her son, Ralph (Brenda) Harker, of Virginia.  She also leaves behind 26 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 1PM-3PM at Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists- Martin Chapel in Calcutta.  The funeral will follow at 3PM with Pastor Patrick Smith of Lisbon First United Methodist officiating.  Ina will be laid to rest in Columbiana County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Ina’s name to: Calcutta Health Care Center: 48444 Bell School Road, East LIverpool, OH  43920.  The family would also like to thank the staff of Calcutta Health Care for their care and compassion during Ina’s time with them.  Your jobs are not easy, but you are so very appreciated
