Howard Nelson Fletcher, 85, of Moundsville, WV, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2020 at the New Martinsville Care Center.
He was born in Cameron, WV, son of the late George E. & Doris M. (Barcus) Fletcher.
Nelson was an Equipment Operator for Bayer Chemical, a former member of the WV National Guard and a Member of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Fork Ridge. Nelson loved to take care of his and his wife’s farm out on Fork Ridge in Moundsville.
In addition to his parents, Nelson was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Fletcher; sisters, Madeline Fletcher and Naoma Boss and his brother, Tom Fletcher.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Maxine E. (Johns) Fletcher of Moundsville; children, Cathy Fletcher of Chattanooga, TN, Bill Fletcher (Suzanne Armstrong) of St. Albans, WV and John (Cynthia) Fletcher of Powhatan Point, OH; sister, Freda Barry of Waynesboro, PA; brothers, Jerry (Carol), Donnie (Nancy) and Mark (Sue) Fletcher, all of Cameron and three granddaughters, Kristian Fletcher (Chez O’Neal) of Lancaster, PA, Myah & Hannah Fletcher both of Charleston, WV.
Per Nelson’s request there will be no services at this time, they will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
The family asks that in Nelson’s honor, the next time you’re at a restaurant, pick another family out and pass the love forward, and pay for their meal, this would honor Nelson.
