St. Petersburg, Florida – Helen P. Oliver, 94, formerly of East Liverpool, died Monday, July 2, 2018 at Hospice House in Poland following a brief illness. She later moved to St. Petersburg, Florida and has resided there for the last 25 years.
Born Jan. 12, 1924 in Norton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Nelson D. and Ella Maude (Newell) Madden. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Leonard V. Oliver and two sons: Leonard L. Oliver and C. David Oliver.
She is survived by two daughters: Ella M. Janis and her husband Edward of Bremen, GA and Elayne Lowe and her husband Geoffrey of East Liverpool; a daughter-in-law: Shirley Oliver of Wayne, Mich,; a brother: Nelson Madden and his wife Julia of Kent, Ohio; two sisters: Betty Jones of Louisville, Ohio and Geni Sue Ferguson and her husband Cowboy Bill of Canton, Ohio; seven grandchildren: Stephanie, Lisa, J.D., Mark, Graeme, Gregory and Philip; four great grandchildren: Christian, Zackary, Jacob and Taylor and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Helen was a graduate of Norton High School, member of the East Liverpool Elks, worked as a nursing assistant at Weirton General Hospital before working in Sales for the former Waterford Park. She was Democratic committee woman, a poll worker, a member of the VFW and attended Beech Mennonite Church.
