Hazel C. Ward, age 93, Negley, OH passed away at home on Monday, November 30, 2020 after a lengthy illness.

Born in East Liverpool, OH on March 3, 1927, Hazel was the daughter of Daniel W. Miller and Eva (Wilson) Miller-Shaw and had lived her entire life in the area. She was a graduate of East Liverpool High School, class of 1945. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Fredricktown Christian Church. She enjoyed playing guitar and electric bass and was in several bands, such as “Easy Does It” and last playing with the “True Tones”. Hazel also enjoyed square dancing and spending time with her precious family.

She was preceded in death on June 26, 2005 by her late husband, Emmett D. Ward, whom she married on May 10th, 1948.

Hazel is survived by her husband: George Clemmer whom she married on February 3rd, 2010; two sons: Edwin E. Ward (Janet) and Dennis W. Ward both of Lisbon, OH.; two sisters: Roberta Allen of Calcutta, OH, and Beulah Holden of Lima, OH; three grandchildren: Jaime Neville (Brian) of Rogers, OH, Tammy Swanson (Chad) of Downingtown, PA, and Michael Ward (Donna) of Export, PA; and seven great grandchildren: Lindsey and Brooke Neville, Karly, Natalie and Derek Swanson, and Cole and Cora Ward.

In addition to her late husband and parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her two brothers: Ralph and Walter Miller, and three sisters: Elizabeth Holden, Esther Simms Green, and Mildred “Babe” Green Rowley.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, private family visitation, and services will be held on Friday, December 4th at the Calcutta Chapel of the Care Funeral and Cremation Specialists at 15872 St. Clair Ave. in Calcutta with pastor Jim Equels Sr. of the Fredericktown Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Rogers. In compliance with Ohio State Regulations masks and social distancing are required.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fredericktown Christian Church at 12894 Jackson St., East Liverpool, OH 43920.
