Goldie Mae Wayt, 92, formerly of Moundsville, WV, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Brightwood Nursing Home, Follansbee, WV.
She was born March 18, 1931, the daughter of the late James E. and Osie M. (Myers) Gilbert. Goldie was a kind and giving person who always made it a point to donate to causes that were close to her, such as St. Jude Children’s Hospital, various Indian Reservations and multiple veterans organizations. She enjoyed wall papering and even wall papered her whole apartment and was an avid music fan, especially “her man” Elvis.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack Wayt; her infant daughter, Debbie Sue Lohr; three brothers, Gene, Clarence and Junior and four sisters, Eleanor, Grace, Mary and Florence.
Goldie is survived by her son, Roy Lohr and his significant other, Georgianna Phillips of Wheeling, WV; as well as Roger Wells of Glen Easton, WV and Misty (Crow) Board of Springfield, OH whom she raised as her own.
A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
