Goldie Mae (Hunkler) Edgel, 97, of Cameron, formerly of Wheeling, passed away Friday, March 26, 2021 at Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, WV.
She was born October 4, 1923 in Malaga, Ohio, the daughter of the late Theodore and Annie (Fitzgerald) Hunkler.
Goldie was a retired housekeeper for Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church where she was also a member.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Thomas Edgel Sr.; two brothers Francis Hunkler and Otis Hunkler; a grandson Matthew Edgel.
Surviving are a son Thomas Edgel Jr. (Susan) of Moundsville; a daughter Mary Woods (Don) of Tucker Georgia; a brother Lawrence “Larry” Hunkler; five grandchildren Mike Stecyk, Shannon Stecyk, Kristy Price, Brianna Edgel and Renee Edgel; three great- grandchildren Kyle, Erik and Kaylee; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 4-8 pm at Care Funeral and Cremation Service, 3828 Jacob Street, South Wheeling. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 12 pm at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Sherrard with Rev. Joseph Augustine as celebrant. Entombment to follow at Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens, Sherrard.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Peace, 690 Mt. Olivet Road, Wheeling, WV., 26003.
Due to Covid-19 , the family ask that anyone attending visitation to please wear a mask.
