Geraldine F. Yaney, 93,peacefully passed away at her residence on March 30, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. 

 Geraldine was born in Wellsville, OH on September 26, 1930, the daughter of the late Harry E. and Sara F. (Metts) Haustman.  She was a graduate of Wellsville High School with the Class of 1948.  After graduation, Geraldine furthered her education at East Liverpool School of Nursing, graduating with her nursing degree in 1952, shaping her into the skilled nurse she became known for.   She dedicated 27 years of her life as a Registered Nurse at the former Extended Care of East Liverpool Hospital. Her compassion and commitment to caring for others left a lasting impact on her community.

In her early years, Geraldine was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Wellsville. Later, she found solace in attending St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Liverpool.. She was also a former member of Yellow Creek Grange.

Along with her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by: her beloved husband George A Yaney, whom she married on December 18, 1995; and brothers Richard and Ronald Haustman, as well as  her first husband Clyde W Johnston.

Geraldine is survived by: her children: Charles W (Karen) Johnston, of East Liverpool, Robert M. Johnston, of LaGrange, MI, David (Susan) Johnston, of Bidwell, OH, Beverly Jean (Curtis) Burchett, of East Liverpool, Patricia Ann (Rick) Rankel, of Dowagiac,  MI, and Carol Lynn Endicott, of East Liverpool.  She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Shawn (Heather) Johnston, Mary Ann (Drew) Stephens, Rickey (Haleigh) Moore, Timothy (Stacie) Johnston, Jason (Christina) Johnston, Sara Boso, Raymond Boso, Heather Ekanem, Aly Weaver, and Katy Weaver; 16 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 5PM-7PM at the MacLean Chapel of Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists, 508 Riverside Avenue, Wellsville.  The funeral will follow at 7PM.  Geraldine will be laid to rest with her husband, George, at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
