George W. Rice Jr.

George W. Rice Jr., 79, of Martins Ferry, OH, passed away at the Wheeling Hospital on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 in Wheeling, West Virginia.

He was born on February 19, 1943 to the late George W. Rice Sr. and Virginia (Edge) Rice.

George loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman..

He was a loving father to seven children; Jeff Rice of Toronto, OH, Jamie (Sam) Zavatsky of Bridgeport, OH, Lisa Rice of Follansbee, WV, George (Nicole) Rice of Bridgeport, WV, Penny (Brian Pitcher) Rodgers of Bridgeport, OH, Helen Ecker of Martins Ferry, OH, and Jason (Billie) Rice of Benwood, WV. One sister, Betty (William) Braun of Washington, PA; One brother, Donald (Linda) Rice of Florida. George has 19 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received for a memorial service, Saturday April 16, 2022 at the Care Funeral Home & Cremation Specialists 204 W. Main Street, St. Clairsville, OH 43950 from 12Noon until the time of service at 2pm with Pastor Dean Myers as Celebrant.
