    Sarah Dittoe Philbrick says:
Tom and family- I am so very sorry for your loss. Freida and I had been talking a lot in the last month since my mom was sick. Despite going through her own major health issues, Frieda messaged me often to ask about my mom, to offer support and well-wishes, and just to check in. When I asked her about her own health, she brushed it off, probably so she wouldn’t burden me. I had no idea she was so sick. I remember Freida always being so selfless, so genuinely concerned for others’ wellbeing. She felt the world deeply, and did what she could to lessen the pain of those around her. She was an empath like my mom with a fiery spirit who spoke up against injustice. They were kindred spirits, and I’m sure that’s why they remained connected throughout their lives. I’m so grateful to have reconnected with her myself lately, even though it was under sad circumstances. Growing up with Freida- she felt like a sister to me. Tom, I can’t imagine how you must be feeling to lose the love of your life. I’m so happy you have your kids to comfort and support you. Freida lives on through them and all of us who knew her. She touched so many lives. I’m sad I can’t be there in person today to remember her with you. Sending you all so much love and my condolences.
