 Fredrick “Fred” H. Smith, 84, of Saint Clairsville, OH passed away on November 25, 2022 at his residence.

He was born on January 1, 1938 to Alton and Eleanor (Brown) Smith in Barnesville, OH.

In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara (Haught) Smith.

Fred retired as a supervisor from the Olin Mathieson Corporation. He was an active member of Thoburn United Methodist Church – St. Clairsville, OH, the Stone Chimney Club, American Legion Post 159 – St. Clairsville, OH, and was an Army Veteran. Fred was a craftsman who enjoyed woodworking.

Fred is survived by his wife, Conetta “Connie” Smith, of 15 years; 8 step-children; two brothers: John O. (Anne) Smith, Alton (Lois) Smith; sister, Rebecca (Paul) Meloni; multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm Care-St. Clairsville, Ohio 204 W Main St. Clairsville, OH 43950.

Visitation will be held again on Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 10:00 am until the time of Military Honors by the Belmont County Veterans Association at 10:45 am at the Thoburn United Methodist Church – 209 E Main Street, St. Clairsville, OH 43950. Immediately following, funeral services will begin at 11:00 am with Pastor David St. Aubin officiating.

Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens – Colerain, OH.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Thoburn United Methodist Church – St. Clairsville, OH or to the St. Clairsville Food Pantry at TMCFunding.com
